The Story Behind
Third Acre Farm

This is a hobby gone amuck. It started with no hives and an answer to a beekeeping class advertisement. We have grown to around thirty colonies spread across eleven homes and four towns.

 

With the exception of our house, there are on average two hives at each location. All of our hives are suburban, not agricultural. That means that the bees are accessing a wide range of nectar and pollen and are not subjected to the heavy chemical exposure modern farming practices seem to require.

This is a small operation and all of our sales are from our little honey stand outside our house. It is self serve and on the honor system.
